Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Permanent Basement Waterproofing and Wall Stabilization in Lakeland, TN
Catherine H. of Lakeland, TN had been living in her home since 2000 without major basement concerns—until a series of recent rains revealed a serious water intrusion issue. Water began seeping through the back wall near the floor and directly through the wall itself, causing concern for further damage. Although a competitor had previously installed a partial system on the front wall in 2011, the new leak on the back wall signaled the need for a more comprehensive and permanent solution. During our inspection, we also identified a horizontal crack and a bowing wall that Catherine had not previously noticed, highlighting underlying structural issues.
To resolve the problem, our team designed a tailored waterproofing and stabilization solution. We installed a full WaterGuard drainage system along the entire back wall, paired with a sump pump positioned near the door to ensure efficient water evacuation. To address water at the door entry, we installed a TrenchDrain system across the threshold. We added BrightWall paneling over the wall for a clean, waterproof finish while working around four electrical outlets and a window. Structurally, we reinforced the wall with three PowerBraces, with the flexibility for our production team to switch to CarbonArmor if needed, allowing seamless integration beneath the BrightWall. This plan not only addressed the active water intrusion but also proactively tackled the bowing wall.
The discharge system was routed into the side yard, running beneath a small chain-link fence to a LawnScape outlet for proper drainage away from the home. Although Catherine was offered the option to extend the waterproofing system across the unaffected garage and remaining front wall, she opted to focus on the current area of concern. This project provided Catherine with the peace of mind she needed—knowing her basement is now permanently protected from future water damage and structural issues.
