Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Permanent Slab Foundation Waterproofing in Olive Branch, MS
Persistent Water Intrusion Problem
Paula W. of Olive Branch, MS had been dealing with water intrusion in her slab foundation for more than a decade. Despite multiple repair attempts—including a previous installation of a membrane system by another contractor—heavy rains continued to cause flooding and interior damage. Over the past five years, she had to replace carpet, carpet padding, drywall, and other materials multiple times. Frustrated with short-term fixes that only treated symptoms, Paula was ready for a permanent solution that would stop water at its source.
Comprehensive Groundwater Protection Solution
Our team designed and installed a GPS (Groundwater Protection System) to address the foundation’s vulnerabilities. The project included 30 feet of GPS along the west wall and 18 feet along the south wall, with the south wall pitched two inches from the low point to the southwest corner for optimal gravity flow. Water is collected using EZ Flow Pipe and directed to a sump pump located in the northwest corner of the home. From there, the system discharges water through a 69-foot line to the street, with a curb cut added for efficient outflow and to prevent water from pooling around the home’s foundation.
Importance of Proper Exterior Waterproofing
This engineered approach stops water before it can reach the interior, protecting both the home’s structure and its finishes. By combining GPS technology, precise grading, EZ Flow Pipe, and a sump pump discharge system, the solution ensures long-term performance and peace of mind. Unlike past repairs that relied solely on a wall membrane, this complete exterior and interior water management plan addresses the root cause, helping Paula safeguard her home for years to come.
