Concrete Repair Photo Album: Walkway Lift in Byhalia, MS: Raising Curb Appeal and Safety for a Front Entry
Brantley G. of Byhalia, MS reached out with a specific goal in mind—restoring the sunken walkway that leads from his driveway to the front porch. A friendly and well-informed homeowner, Brantley had done his research on the concrete lifting process and was eager to observe the work firsthand. While he’s not ready to address the driveway at this time, he mentioned that it could be a project for the future. For now, his focus was making the front walkway safe and level again.
The issue was evident where the walkway meets the step to the front porch. Over time, one side of the slab had settled noticeably, creating an uneven transition and a potential trip hazard. Our plan was to lift the affected side of the slab to match the step height and then perform a two-part lift on the full walkway to ensure a smooth, even surface from start to finish. The work area was easily accessible—only about 30 feet from the street—allowing our crew to operate efficiently with the truck parked nearby.
Brantley’s hands-on interest and clear communication helped streamline the project from the start. By addressing the walkway now, he’s not only enhancing the visual appeal of his home’s entrance but also prioritizing safety for family and guests. With a smooth, lifted path in place, his front entry is ready to welcome visitors with confidence.
