Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Structural Reinforcement & Crawl Space Encapsulation in Sardis, MS
Francisco S. and his family had just moved into their new home in Sardis, MS after relocating from Oxford when they began noticing subtle but concerning issues—uneven flooring near the front of the house and slight water intrusion toward the rear. Initially focused on getting a crawl space encapsulation, Francisco reached out to Redeemers Group for a quote. However, during our detailed inspection, we uncovered significant structural concerns: a rotted front rim band, crushed joists bearing on the sill plate, and a main beam not properly seated on its piers. These issues needed urgent attention before moisture control could be effectively addressed.
Our team tackled the repair in phases, starting with the replacement of the damaged rim band along the front of the home. This involved accessing structural components through interior spaces like closets, the dining room, and the master bedroom. We then sistered approximately 375 feet of 2×10 joists to restore floor integrity and added three standalone support columns beneath the main beam to relieve pressure from compromised piers—stabilizing the foundation without attempting to lift. Thanks to generous headroom in the crawl space, much of the work was completed from underneath the home, minimizing interior disruption.
With the structure secure, Francisco confidently moved forward with a full crawl space encapsulation system. This addition locked out moisture, improved air quality, and ensured the home is protected for years to come—supporting his family’s long-term plans in Sardis.
