Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: SmartJack Floor Stabilization in Starkville, AR Restores Rental Home Before Move-In
Colton R. of Starkville, AR and his business partner recently purchased several rental properties to prepare for incoming tenants. One of the homes, currently designated as student housing, had a significant structural issue: the floors were sloping aggressively from the center of the house toward the back. Colton and his wife — a local real estate agent familiar with Redeemers Group — reached out for help, looking for a practical, reliable solution. With a new tenant scheduled to move in within days, they needed a fast turnaround and reassurance that the work could be done around the occupant’s belongings without disruption.
Upon inspection, we identified the root cause: while three of the home’s walls were constructed with solid cinderblock foundation, the back wall relied only on spaced piers set approximately every 7–8 feet. The sill plate along this wall was sagging significantly between those piers. To stabilize the home, we installed five standalone SmartJacks® between the piers along the rear of the house, five more under the main beam, and a 35-foot Supplemental Beam supported by seven SmartJacks running from one side of the house to the other. Each SmartJack was carefully adjusted to lift and level the floor structure.
This custom stabilization system provided critical support exactly where the home needed it most — ensuring safe, level flooring for current and future tenants. By targeting the structural weaknesses with SmartJack technology, we delivered an affordable and effective solution that didn’t require a full foundation overhaul.
