Merigold, MS Pool Deck Concrete Repair Lifted and Leveled Settled Slabs
A settled pool deck in Merigold, MS was lifted, stabilized, and sealed to reduce trip hazards and protect the concrete from worsening damage.
Kellye L. of Merigold, MS wanted to repair a pool deck that had become a safety concern due to uneven concrete and visible settlement. Several areas around the pool had dropped, including a section near the stairs that had settled about one inch and a larger slab that had dropped roughly half an inch overall. Additional settlement was found on the west side of the pool, near the middle slab, around the deep-end ladder, and at the southwest corner where the concrete was beginning to pull away from its original position. Because the pool deck was a tripping hazard and the homeowners were considering selling the home in a few years, restoring the concrete was important for both safety and long-term property value.
Concrete Leveling Addressed Settling Slabs, Voids, Cracks, and Pool Deck Safety
The repair plan focused on lifting and stabilizing three key problem areas while also sealing cracks and joints across the pool deck and walkway to the parking pad. Visible voids beneath portions of the concrete suggested that the slabs had lost support, which can allow settlement to continue if left untreated. The parking pad, front walkway, and front porch were not included because the customer was not concerned with those areas. The main priority was to improve the pool deck where the concrete had settled, cracked, and created uneven walking surfaces around high-traffic areas near the stairs, ladder, and pool edge.
PolyLevel, NexusPro, Crackfill, and Slab Jacks Helped Protect the Pool Deck
The crew drilled injection holes around the pool deck and walkway, then installed PolyLevel to lift, stabilize, and level the settled concrete slabs as much as possible. Slab jacks were also used to assist with lifting and positioning the concrete. After the slabs were stabilized, the drilled holes were filled with crackfill, and the cracks and joints were sealed with NexusPro and sand. These methods mattered because concrete pool deck repair requires more than cosmetic patching; lifting addressed the unsupported slabs, stabilization helped reduce future movement, and sealing helped keep water out of cracks and joints that could lead to more settlement, erosion, or damage.
